  • Dawson Institute, Foundation funded through generous sponsorship by Julie Whitney Dawson, Gamma Iota-DePauw, reimagines the future of lifetime friendship by creating meaningful cross-generational connections. Dawson equips attendees with the skills to champion leadership potential in themselves and others in all phases of life.

    Selected attendees will receive all costs for travel, accommodations, meals and attendance at the event covered by a generous scholarship from the Delta Gamma Foundation.

    Learning Outcomes: 

    • Participants will identify impactful leadership moments in their life
    • Participants will form relationships and connections with small group members 
    • Participants will describe their personal best leadership experiences from 2 different phases of life
    • Participants will define leadership as “an influence relationship amongst individuals who intend real change that reflect their mutual purpose”
    • Participants will describe their top five signature strengths 
    • Participants will describe how their five signature strengths enhance their leadership 
    • Participants will describe what it means to have brave and authentic friendship  
    • Participants will articulate that authentic friendships require confrontation 
    • Participants will identify members of their support system 
    • Participants will describe how they can use their strengths to benefit others in their support system

    To aide in developing a diverse representation, efforts will be made to include: 

    • Alumnae who vary by race, ethnicity, religious affiliation, color, creed, national origin, sexual orientation, marital status, physical disability or other protected identities.
    • Alumnae who vary in their engagement levels with the Fraternity
    • Alumnae from different chapters of Initiation
    • Alumnae from different geographical regions

    A selection committee comprised of Fraternity Directors and Executive Offices staff will review all applications and select attendees. Current Fraternity Leadership are not eligible to attend at this time.
